Brisbane based Civil Marriage Celebrant Gwen Inglis has been voted No. 1 Marriage Celebrant in Queensland. Gwen’s award, Queensland’s Marriage Celebrant of the year, was announced at the 16th Queensland annual Australian Bridal Industry Academy (ABIA) gala awards night at Rydges Hotel, South Bank.
“I was so excited” Gwen told us. “I have been a finalist for the last six years and as I said in my acceptance speech ‘six years a bridesmaid and finally the bride’. It was awesome! I can hardly believe it”.
You have to receive a customer satisfaction rating of at least 95% to be a finalist. Gwen received a rating of 99.98%.
The ABIA awards are a much sought-after award for Australian wedding suppliers as they are determined by the votes of past brides. Each year over 30,000 brides are registered to vote for their most outstanding wedding suppliers. Gwen Inglis was nominated for the ABIA award based on the quality of product, quality of service, value for money and the attitude of the staff who serviced the brid’s needs, before, during and after their wedding day.
The attendees of the gala ABIA awards night received an opening address from the Chairman of the ABIA who congratulated the Finalists on their achievement. He said that the wedding supplier was unique; as they had just one unrepeatable day to deliver excellence in their products and services. The quality of the work, as reflected in the newlywed’s votes, was something that each and every one of the attendees could be proud of.
Gwen celebrated her win with other finalists from the Brisbane, photographer Sylvie Jackson of Papillion Photography, Stephanie and Jodie Thrower from Beautiful Illusions and Tara Young and Melissa van Essen from The Courthouse Restaurant Cleveland who won best Restaurant Reception and runner-up for In-house Wedding Advisor.
